Siddian and Cassiel Sketch

Yep.

Ever since I first got MineCraft the Endermen have been my favorite monster, and I just didn't understand why all I heard was that everyone was so afraid of them... I mean, they're not even hostile unless you hit them or stare at them.

In my very first creative single-player world one of the first things I did was build an obsidian tower and fill it with endermen. They were my buddies :3
In the very first server I joined I got my first rank-up by hand mining enough obsidian to make a pixle-for-pixle obsidian Enderman.
In that same server, when I finally achieved Staff ranking and got to use creative mode, the first thing I did was locate an ender portal, go through, and build my home there.
Seriously, I love Endermen


Anyway,

I've admired =LiLaiRa's Endy for a long time (for obvious reasons ), and my sister (*TurksCapLily) recently got me interested in his ask blog on Tumblr, and Shaden's too.

Des/Turks (my sister) started making her own Endermen characters and showed me a few of the other blogs out there too, and since I've just gotten back into Minecraft again, Endermen in general have been on my mind alot lately.




So a couple nights ago I had a really crazy, really scary dream. I don't remember much, just that it took place on a battlefield and involved an Enderman who was about to kill a human. That human threw a bucket of liquid ghast tears at the enderman in a last ditch effort to kill it first. The tears, being liquid, began to sear the Enderman who collapsed back in pain, but he screamed out in such agony that it couldn't have been only the burns that were hurting him. The explanation my brain provided me with that this: When mobs are killed, their souls gather inside of ghasts; the ghast houses all of their memories and the reason it cries, the reason it becomes so enraged at the sight of a human in the neather, is that it constantly relives all the pain and suffering of every mob whose soul it contains in order to allow the souls within it peace from their own pain. When that enderman was hit with the bucket of ghast tears it didn't even feel it's own pain, but rather was reliving every instant of pain of every mob ever killed that had gathered into the ghasts that human had killed, all in a single moment. SOMEHOW, this supposedly "killed" the enderman, but instead of losing his pearl and laying dead, he turned white and mostly transparent, gained the markings of a ghast, and faded into a sort of limbo. He took the name Cassiel, and from then on would sometimes appear (never in a fully solid form, usually as a sort of ghost-like image) to those in great pain to take away their suffering, especially if they were dying at the time. He's the reason for the legends of the white enderman. Or so my brain said.

Fun fact, I had NO IDEA that Cassiel was the name of an archangel of solitude and tears (who presided over the death of kings but never really stepped in to change the events of the world) at the my dream provided me with that name. I found that out the next day when I googled the name to see if it even was a real name or not. Freaky, right? Someone I told about it asked me if I'd ever seen Supernatural because apparently there's a Cassiel on that, the answer is no, I've never even seen one episode. XD

I wanted to draw him, but I feel like having my very-own-enderman be this super-special white enderman ghast thing is way too mary sue and self important XD So I ended up creating another enderman just so I could have something a little more average. Siddian, as in, obsidian (my favorite block in MC) is the result of that I figure his story can be a lot more simple. I can feel better about having HIM as an actual character XD But I doodled them both.

Cassiel's head looks a little derpy, but it's been awhile since I did traditional and I couldn't just drag-and-drop to fix it
